no cups, no "multiply the recipe by 2.7 and hope." this is also why professional formulas are written this way — you can read "80% hydration, 20% whole wheat, 2% salt" and know exactly what that dough will feel like before you touch flour.
The starter problem: where sourdough breaks the easy math

Say you're mixing:
